Ive used this app on my iMac and now my iPad. As a writer I have found it to be invaluable and recommend it to anyone who needs an instant reference.

Im terrible speller and this is intuitive enough to get what I need.

Great to have dictionary available offline, but without extensions and split screen capabilities is really limits the usefulness.

Ive been using this app for quite some time, after having tried other dictionary apps. I kept coming back to this app because it was faster, more practical and more versatile than the others. After reading some of the other reviews, frankly I am baffled as to some of the criticisms. This app is a great tool for writers of any kind.

I am the worst speller on the face of the Earth. I was looking up the spelling of squirrel when I was asked to provide this review. I love worldBook XL. It is large enough to provide all the information you need on one page. It is easy to use. It is accurate. I use it every day. A real lifesaver when you just cant spell. I have used many spell checkers and this is the best. I wouldnt lye to you.

Similar to an encyclopedia. I cannot begin to cite the powerful features in this app. Within the definitions are links to related info. And links to online sources. So much more than a dictionary. I have purchased several dictionaries - this one is great and very useful for more than just definitions.

Love it. Use it everyday. Would like the way it manages bookmarks to be a like more intuitive but awesome nonetheless.

Irreplaceable app for the spelling impaired!

I loved the iPhone version of this app and decided to dish out for the iPad version, intending to use it in Split View on my iPad Pro, BUT... it doesnt work. Come on developers. Your last update was in May 2015! Split View has been around since the iPad Air 2, and people are using iPad Pros as their main workhorses now. Please update.

Although the definitions are not entirely complete, the etymologies are well above average for a small dictionary, and at the asking price this is an outstanding value. Extras such as the anagram and word finder aids and a good if basic thesaurus only make it better.

As a writer, having the alphabetized, categorized thesaurus at my fingertips is invaluable. The included etymology of most words is helpful and within the app when you tap on a word itll take you to its definition.

Concise but thorough definitions. Easy-to-read layout. Fantastic etymologies are among the best. Highly recommended.

Have been using this for quite a few years and continue to feel it is exceptional. I have numerous other similar apps, yet this is my go-to app because of its ease-of-use and accuracy. I wholeheartedly recommend this to others!

I bought this at least five years ago. It has been my go to dictionary every sense. I like the fact that it will speak the word to you to get the correct pronunciation. Well worth the price!
