Pros and cons of WordBook (Universal) app for iPhone and iPad

WordBook (Universal) app good for

One of the more professional looking English dictionary apps available. What I like: -Option to use recorded audio pronunciation (requires data). -Bookmark and notes. -Words of the day. -"sounds like" search feature for misspelt words. -Puzzle solver for your word games. -Custom web search to link to other reference sites. Things that could improve: -Cloud sync my bookmark and notes (iCloud, Dropbox etc). -UI needs an update
As a writer I use this app extensively and its never failed to deliver!!
This dictionary not only includes root meanings which is relatively rare, especially that most root meanings in other dictionaries are usually quite cursory. Quite disappointing after purchasing. Wordbook XL is not only not cursory, it even follows the literal root meanings, with meanings from its usage in the time period of its earlier root. Ive purchased a large number of app dictionaries, because of need. Ive looked at a lot of free app dictionaries. Wordbook XL is the best one I have seen, by far.
Tried many different dictionary apps and this is by far the best.
A constant companion. Allows me to find the best way to express a complex idea.
bought it long time ago and im still using it right now, almost daily. so 5 stars.

Some bad moments

On iPad Mini under OS7. Plante très souvent, inutilisable sur mes dernières traductions, inadmissible pour une version payante. La prononciation ne fonctionne pas, lapp est muette. Cest dommage car ce dictionnaire serait très utile; VITE ! une mise à jour SVP ! ------------------------------------------------- Crashes very often, impossible to use it on my last translation work. This is a shame for a paid app. No sound neither voice. Too bad because this dictionary should be very useful. Quick, An update please!
This app is the excellent WordNet-based dictionary ever. It navigates me with quick, intuitive and beautiful flat-design layout. It worth 5-star if it supports iPad Pro resolution. Please!
the latest update broke this app. now you can no longer use the puzzle solver. everytime I try to enter some letters it comes up with no results when there are clearly possible words. dont buy until they fix!
Whatever you did, I hate. I can no longer use the game help. Might as well delete it.
I WAS DOING SOMETHING! The pop up box comes back again and again and again bugging for a rating. It wont stop! Here is your one star rating for this. Ill refresh it every time this happens. You deserve it!
A nice dictionary app, but it really needs to support Slide Over and Split View on the iPad in iOS9. Theres been plenty of time to bring these features to market.
